Product managers sit at the intersection of business, technology, and user experience. Your CV needs to reflect that breadth — while staying focused on the outcomes you drove.
Lead With Impact, Not Tasks
The most common PM resume mistake is listing responsibilities instead of results. Recruiters already know what a PM does. They want to know what you specifically achieved. Every bullet should answer: what changed because of you?
Key Sections for a PM Resume
- Professional Summary — 2–3 lines on your PM focus, industry, and scale
- Core Competencies — roadmapping, A/B testing, stakeholder management, OKRs
- Experience — company, role, dates, 4–6 impact bullets per role
- Selected Projects or Products — with metrics (MAU, revenue, retention)
- Education — degree and institution
- Certifications — CSPO, PMP, Google PM Certificate (if relevant)
Metrics That Matter for PMs
Quantify wherever possible. The numbers that resonate in PM resumes include: monthly active users, revenue growth, conversion rate improvements, NPS score changes, time-to-market reduction, and cost savings.
Which Template to Use
Use the MBA or Product Manager template on CVPair. Both prioritise the experience section while giving room for metrics and product context. Avoid overly creative layouts — most PM roles go through ATS first.
